PURGE OPEN BETA 1.3.5 PATCH AND FULL
February 1, 2003 - Purge Open Beta 1.3.5 has been released, both as a patch to previous betas and a full distribution for new players. Purge Open Beta 1.3.5 fixes many severe bugs and greatly optimizes the netcode in Purge. Many bugs in skills have been fixed, which significantly affects gameplay. Several game rules have also been changed so using skills are more profitable. High lag weapons have been tweaked to reduce ping spikes. For players who still think Purge is played like typical deathmatch FPS, a new "helper" message system was added to assist new players to Purge's unique game style. Additionally the Purge online manual has been updated to explain the Purge Battle Modes and how Experience Points are gained.

- Various network optimizations.
- Client-side XP memory leak fixed.
- Chat disappearing bug fixed... hopefully. Well reduced atleast. ;)
- Respawn lag delay bug fixed.
- "No reinforcements" when you still had reinforcements, bug fixed.
- Forced switching classes when a team wasn't full, bug fixed.
- Forced switching classes without actually switching your class, bug fixed.
- Joining a server now reports the correct XP for other players.
- Players can no longer remain "buffed" when they respawn or switch classes.
[Map]
- Hegira map tweaked.
- Proteus map tweaked.
- Dragonbones map made easier to defend with new force walls.
[Battle Modes]
- The Persistance Battle Mode should stay in memory and send your data to the next map.
[Effects]
- Various explosions graphics reworked... again
- Explosion "screen shaking" modified for various weapons to be more accurate to visual
- Better blood effects.

- Explosions do 2x damage on all constructions now.
[Android]
- XL5 improved model for more SMG look.
- XL5 has a visable loading clip now.
- Plasma Rifle primary fire ROF lowered to 200ms a second.
- Plasma Rifle armor pentration increased from 28 to 30.
- Plasma Rifle has a visible loading clip now.
- Plasma Rifle clip size reduced to 50.
- Phalanx radius blast area increased.
- Ion Barriers now stay if you die. Barriers not taking damage from explosives bug fixed.
- You can only place 4 Barriers now.
- Ion Barriers have a new, more transparent "force field".
- Nano Generator stay if you die.
[Mage]
- Frostbolt ROF lowered to 4 shots/second.
- Lightning primary-fire ROF lowered to 5 shots/second.
- Lightning alternate-fire ROF lowered to 10 shots/second.
- Lightning armor pentration increased from 28 to 30.
- Fireball radius blast area increased.
- Fireball primary-fire radius damage slightly increased.
- Fireball alternate-fire radius damage decreased.
- Fireball "muzzle flare" is now is the right spot.
- Wards now stay if you die. Wards not taking damage from explosives bug fixed. You can only place 4 Wards now.
- Wards have a new, more transparent "force field".
- Guardian Sprit stays if you die.
[Cyborg]
- SnP Minigun ROF lowered to 10 shots/second.
- SnP Minigun armor pentration increased from 25 to 28.
- SnP Minigun animation smoother.
- Augment Station now gives XP.
- Scrub upgraded from RPG-7 class (Warhead1/Explosion1) to missile class (Warhead2/Explosion2).
- Scrub now has much better armor penetration.
- Augment Station stays if you die.
- Augment Station now gives XP.
[Fighter]
- Snakeblade can not longer shoot throw the barrier from the outside.
- Defender majorly reworked so the energy slash works as it visually suggests.
- Defender "Shielding" mode lasts longer so the Fighter can swing his Defender once while protected.
- Defender ammo use rebalanced.
- Shrine stays if you die.
- Shrine now gives XP.
[Wastelander]
- Chemical Grenades have 2x more ammo.
- Chemical Grenades can now double as smoke grenades. They do not hurt you or your friends.
- Chemical Grenades only last 10 seconds now.
- Health and Ammo Pack stays if you die.
[Monk]
- Faith Healing and Mana Stone stays if you die.
[UI]
- New "helper" messaging system added.
- New "lag/disconnected" image added.
- Attacking portals have a clearer message with a thumbnail of the portal. (helpful to new players)
- New message appears when your team is on the attack.
- New message appears when attacking a buffed Portal. (Nano Generator or Guardian Spirit)
