TEQ is a totally FREE online strategy war game. This is a must play for those out there who love strategy games. TEQ is turn based.. 1 turn every 15-25 minutes depending on which server you play in. There are two servers... on is the Indy Server also known as the "Fight Server" The concept is very simple.. u create an account.. user name.. password ect.. then pick a country name :) Now your ready to fight.. fight server is a free for all.. each player fights for the top. There is NO TEAM PLAY in this server. Each turn comes every 15 minutes.. your goal is to pick a strat and make it to the top.

Then there is the Team server.. this where u join a team of up 10 players and cooperate and try to make it to the top... scores are based on Networth unlike in fight where they are based on points (attacking) So your goal is to build your military up, attack for land.. build on that land, buy military, sell stuff on the Public Market and discover technologies.. ext.. This is an awsome game.. it also has a public message board with TONS of friendly players willing to teach you how to play. If your looking to prove yourself as a great player and love to discuss stuff with other players then this is the game for you. Its very simple to learn and play.. you wont regret it so check it out!!! www.playteq.com

TEQ is a turn-based strategy game, and is the best in its class. I began playing 6 Months, This games is very fun to play and can be easily though, like i trin about 3-4 Newbies a Week and they all turn out good, it hasn't received the attention it desives and the TEQ Admin and Players agree..... It would be 100Times better only if we had more players! So please just give it a try for a few resets of so!

The game resets ever month because the top players can get to enourmus NetWorths and this way it gives newer players a chance:)

Link i said....Playing is a Sinch. There are many ways to learn the tricks of the trade, and it's impossible to develop a perfect strategy, but i know guys who have comevery close to getting one.

To learn, you can either Surf the message boards, Visit the famous XGN were you can find strategy and tips, chat with our players community, or you can join Teaching TEQ for Newbies(TNT), they can show ya how its done, and receive more one-to-one training via ICQ, MSN, AIM.

TDZK to Take One Year Break

TDZK to Take One Year Break

Announcement from the TDZK admins on the forums

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Hello everyone. Most of you have noticed that the last few weeks have seen fewer and fewer updates to TDZK, and that the administration team hasn't been around nearly as much as we used to be. I'd like to briefly outline a bit of TDZK's history, where we're at now, and where we're going.

TDZK's been around for over five years now. Aelanna had the original idea for the game, and I came on board three weeks later after seeing the initial prototype. We had a lot of fun creating the first version of TDZK, and after a few months Squee joined up as well. It was a fun hobby, to make a game people enjoyed playing.

TDZK 1.0 went well, but as the player base grew, we reached the limits of the game engine. We were all beginning programmers back then, and the design just didn't hold up well once we passed a certain point.

We then created the TDZK 2.x series, also known as the Genesis engine. While still using PHP for the front end technology, we rewrote almost all of the game, adding new features as we went, and making it far more stable and robust. It worked fairly well, but again we started running into issues with the design of the game that couldn't really be solved with the current technologies. Double-kills and all sorts of other timing errors really aren't possible to prevent using PHP. We also hoped to take the game to the next level, adding in even more features and redefining the TDZK experience.

We started planning for the Nomad engine, what the game currently uses. Nomad was supposed to be far greater than anything we'd previously done, with smart NPCs, engaging quests, real-time updates to sector status, and a host of other things. Some of these features are partially there. NPCs are in, and somewhat smart, and there's a lot of cool new features that the 2.x series never had. Over the last five years we've had real-world programming experience and and worlds better than we were at the start, and TDZK's engine is now very state of the art, or will be once we finish getting the remaining bugs out of it.

However, the 3.x series has had a lot of problems of it's own. From it's delayed start (and the hastily thrown together 2.8 round) until now, it's been plagued by all manner of bugs, imbalances, and a lot of other problems. A lot of this was poor planning on the part of the admins, but what's done is done, and we're trying to make the best of where we are now.

This brings us to the present. Activity in the game is low, and so is enthusiasm. We're not retaining new players very well, partially due to lingering problems, and partially due to the low morale of the community. In short, things are not good. We've tried patching it in-place, but some things are hard to correct mid-round, and our time is limited.

The situation for the admins has changed since we started. Five years ago when we started TDZK, it was a hobby. We were in high school at the time, and had greatly fewer responsibilities. Now we're out in the real world, studying at universities and holding down jobs that pay the bills. We have never made any profit on the game, and the only reason it's even survived this long has been from the generous donations and ad buys from the players. Five years ago, the time investment without any profit didn't matter much; it was a hobby. Now it does. We're at the point where we really can't justify putting in much time on TDZK when we consider all the other demands on us.

Additionally, morale among the admin team has been sinking as well. Aelanna has stayed away from the majority of the playerbase for months, due to the constant abuse. Squee has lost a lot of interest, and most of you know he hasn't been around much at all for the last few months either. Recently, I've been losing motivation too. It seems that no matter what we do, no one is satisfied, something is always breaking, and the stress of keeping this game together in it's current state simply isn't worth it anymore. This should not be interpreted as an attack on any individual player...it's simply how I feel. There have been a few people who've been supportive, and those I thank for their efforts and not giving up. I particularly thank the testers and volunteer staff that's helped us over the years, as well as many other individuals. But by and large...it's time for a break.

In consideration of all of the above...

At the end of the current round (May 19th), TDZK will close down. We'll be recalling the servers from the current hosting provider as well, so when it turns off, that means everything, at least for a while. We might bring the forums back after we get the machines and can reconfigure them.

We do still think that TDZK has some potential. We've invested a lot of time into this, and don't mean for this to be the final end. However, given the current state of things, we feel that this is a better route than trying to muddle along as we have been. It will give us a much-needed break, and this way, when we reopen it will be with a fully finished, polished game.

Our plans are to reopen sometime first quarter 2008. That will shift as needed...while we hope to have everything complete by then, "It will be done when it's done" as they say over in Duke Nukem land.

When TDZK does reopen, it will have missions, all the factions, and a much improved AI from the current one. The interface is getting a much needed overhaul that will greatly boost it's usability, and some real-time elements will be included as well. In short, it will hopefully be everything we were dreaming of when we originally planned for Nomad.

Enjoy the rest of the round. We'll probably fix a few more bugs as we go, but don't expect much in the way of major changes. We thank everyone for the support you've given us, and hope to see a few of you back when we reopen.

Shadowbane First Expansion Pack Announced

http://mpogd.com/news/?ID=814

Shadowbane First Expansion Pack Announced

Ubisoft, one of the world's top game publishers, announced today the Shadowbane(tm): The Rise of Chaos expansion pack will be available at a manufacturer's retail price of $19.99 at launch. The expansion for Shadowbane, the critically acclaimed massively multiplayer online (MMO) game for the PC, will begin beta testing soon and will provide fans with an intense, hardcore experience continuing deeper into the realms of darkness. Pending the results of that beta test, Ubisoft expects to release the Shadowbane(tm): The Rise of Chaos this holiday season.

Shadowbane: The Rise of Chaos features new high-level content, and a new race, the Nephilim, a chaotic fusion of demon and man that has arisen from the forces of darkness. In addition, the expansion provides new character classes, disciplines, an additional character slot, two new macro zones, and enhanced environmental graphics. Shadowbane: The Rise of Chaos is being designed and developed by Wolfpack Studios, based in Austin, Texas, and is operated and supported by Ubisoft's online gaming division ubi.com(tm), among the top five gaming portals in the world.

"Shadowbane: The Rise of Chaos once again raises the bar for intensity and strategic action in the MMORPG genre," said Jason Rubinstein, general manager of ubi.com. "Wolfpack listened to the Shadowbane community and incorporated many of their wishes into the game. The expansion pack provides players with a host of new features and unlocks new dangerous zones, including ruins and volcanic wastelands, which take Shadowbane to the next level."

"The Shadowbane community (chronicle.ubi.com) is the most active and vibrant gaming site within the ubi.com portal and serves up to ten million page views on any given month," said Chris Mancil, lead community manager for Shadowbane. "The expansion pack will be well received by Shadowbane fans because of its balance of new areas, content, and storyline."

Shadowbane: The Rise of Chaos, set in a dark fantasy world burning with strife and unrest, will continue to expand the MMO genre into new uncharted territory. Its success and large fan following have been pinned to the game's ability to combine immersive role-playing with deep strategic elements such as city management, army creation, siege warfare, and economic development. Shadowbane is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB and more information can be found on Shadowbane.com and on the official community site, The Chronicle of Strife: chronicle.ubi.com.

Shadowbane: The Rise of Chaos features:

New playable race, the Nephilim half-demons with bat-like wings, horns and the ability to mask their infernal nature.
More than 30 adventure areas for players to explore, engage, and challenge those who dare enter:
Ruins, volcanic wastes, demons of all description, and corrupted natural creatures.
New classes include the Doomsayer and the Sentinel:
The Doomsayer: A priest of Chaos whose power comes from the worship of the Dark Lords. They are able to use their powers of Chaos to inflict harm and weaken opponents. Doomsayers also posses a good repertoire of heals, debuffs, and pet spells.
The Sentinel: Stout, holy warriors who devote their lives to holding Chaos at bay and cleansing the world of its presence. Their powers are a hybrid of the Crusader and the Templar - with anti-chaos powers such as dispells, debuffs, and demon-only blasts.
New Disciplines include the Darksworn and the Conjurer:
The Darksworn: Underlings dedicated to the service of the Dark Lords, who are given in turn a battery of infernal powers.
The Conjurer: Pet discipline used to summon Chaotic entities. These creatures are pet versions adapted from the new monster content added with the expansion pack.
Current players who purchase the expansion pack are immediately granted a sixth character slot to use at their discretion.
Graphical enhancements include new environmental effects which will add to the overall ambiance.

Notes

This is a beta, not a demo. There are bugs. You cannot run the dedicated server and client on the same computer without horrible CPU delays and lag. Don't do it. Also, it is very important server bandwidth settings are correct. If they set higher than the server's actual upload bandwidth, the game will lag very badly with major lost packets.

Shadowbane is being developed by Austin, Texas-based Wolfpack Studios, and offers a ground breaking approach to MMO gaming that allows players to permanently change the history, politics and landscape of the game.

The company has unveiled the Chronicle of Strife, an extensive community site for Shadowbane players at http://shadowbane.ubi.com. Besides daily announcements and updates, the Chronicle of Strife features in-depth details of Shadowbane races, classes and disciplines, interviews with the developers and an encyclopedia containing the lore of Aerynth. The site also features a newspaper-styled College of Heralds in which community members report on the evolving politics, religion, war, commerce and other events occurring in the live game world. Ubi Soft has also re-launched Shadowbane.com with a new look and updated information about the game.

Since its launch last year, the Shadowbane beta test has attracted tens of thousands of players. The company is targeting a March 25th ship date for Shadowbane and plans to continue to expand its beta test over the coming months.

Shadowbane Development Update

http://mpogd.com/news/?ID=254

April 4, 2002
Shadowbane Development Update

From Shadowbane's website:
We would like to take a moment to let you know the current status ofShadowbane and the upcoming testing schedule.
As you are aware, Shadowbane is currently undergoing a closed beta test which has been extremely helpful for us to identify ways to improve the gameplay as well as uncover bugs that are not easily discovered by our internal Quality Assurance tests. We would like to give a big thanks to our beta testers for continuing to work hard to help make Shadowbane a great experience for everyone.
Wolfpack Studios has also been hard at work addressing all the issues that have cropped up in the past 9 weeks of beta testing. All of us at Ubi Soft and Wolfpack Studios are continuing to work to improve and solidify all the game systems, incorporate new ideas where possible, and refine and perfect existing ones. You will be happy to know that Aerynth is constantly growing and evolving into a fantastic and compelling world -- a place that we hope you will be extremely proud to call your future home.
Although Ubi Soft and Wolfpack Studios originally announced that the game would launch in the first half of 2002, we have collectively determined that it will be in the best interests of the game if we extend the beta test for a few more months. Rather than rush the game out the door, Wolfpack Studios and Ubi Soft have decided that we will release the game “when it is ready”.
At this time we cannot commit to an exact date of the game’s launch, but we are working as hard as possible with Wolfpack to release the game as fast as possible, but without compromising the level of quality of the game. We can, however, shed some light on our short-term testing schedule.
Our current plan is to steadily increase the number of players in the beta test throughout the next few months, culminating in a very large test group (thinking many thousands) some time this summer.
We understand that many of you will be disappointed that we have missed a deadline for this game, and we, along with Wolfpack, apologize for that. All of us at Wolfpack Studios and Ubi Soft greatly appreciate the support that you have shown for Shadowbane and we thank you for your patience while we work to complete the game and ensure that Shadowbane lives up to its full potential. We will be sure to inform you of our progress with the beta test, and we will make a best effort to include as many people as possible in that effort.
Sincerely,
The Shadowbane Team

Skotos Releases Strategic Hegemony Game

http://mpogd.com/news/?ID=239

March 21, 2002
Skotos Releases Strategic Hegemony Game

BERKELEY, CA, March 21, 2002 -- Following a closed beta test, Skotos Tech has now released its newest game, Galactic Emperor: Hegemony, to the entire Internet. This game of strategic warfare and diplomacy gives players 21 days to conquer the galaxy. New players can take advantage of a Skotos trial account to play for free.
Players in Galactic Emperor: Hegemony take control of their destiny through a 2-D Java-based graphical interface. By careful allocation of resources, brilliant tactics, and a little luck any Overlord can assure himself of galactic domination. "Hegemony is a totally different sort of game for Skotos," says Christopher Allen, Skotos Tech President & CEO. "It's about strategy and proving yourself the best tactical thinker."
"It's more than just a wargame, though," says Shannon Appelcline, Skotos Vice President, and the integrator of Hegemony into the Skotos community. "The game centers on interacting with other players. Each player must engage in diplomacy and carefully balance their allies and their enemies. It's the only way a would-be Hegemon can hope to win--and also what makes Hegemony a great match for our existing community of game." Galactic Emperor: Hegemony joins two successful social games in the Skotos community--Skotos' own Castle Marrach and Worlds Apart's The Eternal City.
The graphical strategic display of Hegemony will soon be complemented with "Abode", a prose-based Chat Theatre. "It will give players an opportunity to roleplay their Overlords using the existing Skotos game systems--to strategize with their friends and taunt their enemies," says Shannon Appelcline. "Roleplaying will be optional, though--Overlords can play their game entirely in the strategic arena if they prefer."
Galactic Emperor: Hegemony was previously released by Richard Wolfe as Space Empires, which has been running on the Internet since the Fall of 1999; in that time it's proven itself a robust and continuing success, and has also developed a solid community of players. "When we first saw it, we knew it was something really good," says Christopher Allen. "It appeals to a variety of different players and manages to turn a simple, but elegant, game system into a complex strategy game. The game's different every time you play it."
Now available for full release, Galactic Emperor: Hegemony can be found athttp://www.skotos.net/games/hegemony. A free 30-day trial gives new players the opportunity to try Hegemony out before making a commitment to the Skotos community.
ABOUT SKOTOS TECH INC.

Shadowbane Fan Fiction Contest

http://mpogd.com/news/?ID=110

October 10, 2001
Shadowbane Fan Fiction Contest

From Shadowbane Site:

Wolfpack / Ubi Soft Shadowbane Fan Fiction Contest! Here is your chance to get a Shadowbane Beta Account and a free copy of Shadowbane, autographed by the Shadowbane Development Team!

The Fan Fiction contest rules are pretty simple and straight forward. Here are the basic rules:

• Write an original short story of 2500 to 3000 words in length, which is based in the Shadowbane Universe.

• The protagonists of your stories cannot be major "named" figures from the Shadowbane backstory. While prominent figures (like Cambruin, Zeristan, or Beregund) can appear in your tale, we strongly recommend that they be used sparingly, and in a supporting role.

• There is no limitation to when your story can be set - the Age of Strife, the War of Tears, or even the Age of Twilight are all valid. Bear in mind, however, that the events of your story cannot be the deciding factor or the direct cause of any major events in the Official backstory, and cannot directly contradict the descriptions of those events as revealed so far. No, we do not want to see your take on what actually caused the Turning, or who the Traitor was; unless, of course, it is done as a part of narrative style, and told as an opinion of one of the characters in your story.
• Those of you building Guild or Character histories, take note!  Though it seems like an Age of Days since we last updated it, the World History section has been reorganized and enriched with troves of new information.  Included is a General Timeline of the history of Aerynth along with detailed timelines of the Age of Kings and the Age of Strife.  You want dates?  We got 'em!  You never know when this stuff might come in handy...

Winner Selection

• The entries will be narrowed down to five by the by the Shadowbane Story Board team of Wolfpack Studios. These final five entries will be forwarded to Ubi Soft Entertainment who will then judge the top 5 entries, awarding First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth Place winners based on story merit.

The Prizes!

•1st Place: A Free copy of Shadowbane signed by the Wolfpack Development Team and a Shadowbane Beta Account*.

•2nd Place: An Official Shadowbane polo shirt, and an Official Shadowbane T-shirt signed by the Wolfpack Development Team and a Shadowbane Beta Account*.
•3rd Place: An Official Shadowbane T-shirt, Pen, and a Shadowbane Beta Account.

•4th & 5th Place: A Shadowbane Beta Account*.

*Winners who already possess a Shadowbane Beta Account will not receive an extra account.

Deadline

• All entries must be submitted by November 1st, 2001 to be eligible.

Shadowbane Implements PvP Experience Gains

http://mpogd.com/news/?ID=1816

November 17, 2005
Shadowbane Implements PvP Experience Gains

Shadowbane is considered by many to be the premiere Player-versus-Player (PvP) massively multiplayer online game (MMOG). In the December Content Patch, we will be implementing a feature that many have been asking for since they first heard of Shadowbane: Experience gains granted from Player-vs.-Player combat!

Players who engage in combat with others and succeed may be granted experience. Note the word “may”. There are some stipulations that must be met before such rewards are granted. First and foremost, players under Rank 4 (Level 40) neither grant nor gain experience from PvP; this is considered an elder game system only. Worry not, though, that isn’t the only rule.

When you kill someone, a variety of checks are done. Aside from the level checks, the system ensures that the player who was killed is not in the same nation or guild as the player who could potentially be rewarded. Then they will check to make sure that the player is not Errant; an Errant is a player who has not nation nor guild affiliation. While killing an errant character may award experience, errant players themselves gain none from PvP. Wait, there is more!

Next the system checks to verify if the character killed had a Deathshroud effect prior to being killed. If so, no experience gains are granted. Finally, it will see if the player being potentially rewarded has been granted experience in the last hour for the same individual. If so, again, no experience will be rewarded. This will not add on to that timer, though.

Sounds like a lot of checks to do but, luckily, it’s the server doing this and not the players so it will run much quicker. If all of those checks go through, then the player is granted experience! But how much? Well, that depends on the level difference between the players.

This works much like the Player-vs.-Environment system. If both players are within an appropriate level range of each other (and over Level 40), and the above checks are cleared, experience will be granted. If the character being rewarded is too far above the other one, though, experience gains will be minimal and could be even zero (0). If the other character is too far above the rewarded character’s level, the gains will be capped. And should the rewarded character be grouped, it will fall under the same rules as granted group experience and all members of that group will have the same checks performed on them.

Once this system is active, it will tie into another existing system and Hot Zones will definitely become more “hot”! Should a player be rewarded for winning a fight against another one in a Hot Zone, they will be granted double experience!

This is not the only system being implemented in the December Content Patch, though! Stay tuned next week for our next announcement about the upcoming patch!

Shadowbane Loreplay Server Launch Date Announced

http://mpogd.com/news/?ID=1730

September 13, 2005
Shadowbane Loreplay Server Launch Date Announced

The Shadowbane Team is proud to announce that on Monday, September 19th, 2005, the first Shadowbane Loreplay Server will be launched! Shadowbane, a massively multiplayer online game known for its intense player-vs.-player conflict and real-time strategy elements, is one of the few massively multiplayer online games that let players actually change the world.

Vindication, the name of the first server to use the loreplay ruleset, will be the first server to regulate players' strategic options, limiting the types of characters that can join the various Faction-based Guilds, who may cast beneficial and peaceful powers on each other, and who may even group together. These may seem like harsh restrictions, but these game elements have been requested by a large segment of Shadowbane’s community for some time. For the first time, individual guilds will face limits in their power and abilities, and be forced to make strategic decisions to maximize their effectiveness on the battlefield.

Shadowbane has long been acclaimed for its rich backstory and in-game history, and the Loreplay Ruleset will create a rich play environment that better mirrors the factionalized fiction. Many players will finally experience Shadowbane as they originally imagined the game would be. Combined with the Realm and kingship system introduced in Shadowbane’s last expansion, Throne of Oblivion, players can now for the first time ever wage war to see which of which of Shadowbane’s myriad factions is truly the greatest! Who will be able to forge an empire and crush their enemies: the Temple of Cleansing Flame? The High Court of the Elves? The Centaur Cohort? Or will the conquerors be one of more than a dozen other factions? Only time, and the players, can tell!

Shadowbane Celebrates Two Year Anniversary

Shadowbane Celebrates Two Year Anniversary

MMORPG Boasts Most Compelling PvP Gameplay

Ubisoft, one of the world's top game publishers, celebrates the two-year anniversary of Shadowbane®, the critically acclaimed massively multiplayer online (MMO) game by providing all players with a unique piece of in-game apparel featuring stats that will directly affect gameplay. Shadowbane: Throne of Oblivion™, which includes the original game plus both expansion packs is currently available at a manufacturer's retail price of $19.99. It is rated "T" (Teen) for Blood and Violence.

"We are proud and excited about Shadowbane's two-year anniversary," said Frank Lucero, Shadowbane's producer. "We've come a long way since launch, releasing four content patches, two expansions and vastly improved service performance. Also, we have struck a chord with hardcore MMO players, earning us a reputation for the most intense and raw PvP gameplay on the market. We'd like to thank our loyal players and fans who've supported us through the years and literally helped shape Shadowbane into the game it is today."

Over the course of its two years of existence, Shadowbane has taken risks in the MMO marketplace in regard to gameplay mechanics, siege warfare, PvP management and its Dynamic World Model, where every player can, and does, impact Shadowbane's landscape, history and experience.

"The Shadowbane community is as strong as ever," shared Ashen Temper, Shadowbane's lead community manager. "Players are continuing to forge new ground and storylines, which is exciting to see in an MMO title that has been around this long. Shadowbane players are a unique and dedicated group of gamers who really give the game its personality and context, and as a developer and fan of MMO games, we couldn't be happier."

Set in a dark fantasy world burning with strife and unrest, Shadowbane takes the MMO genre to new heights of possibility by offering gamers an unparalleled challenge combining immersive role-playing with deep strategic elements such as city management, army creation, siege warfare and economic development.

More information about Shadowbane can be found at www.shadowbane.com and on the official community website, The Chronicle of Strife, at chronicle.ubi.com.

TDZK New Round - XI

TDZK round 2.5 has started. From index @ www.tdzk.net:
TDZK Round XI - Alternity has begun! Be sure to check out the help files for all the changes. (including new races!) Be nice to the servers!

For all of who don't know about TDZK:
The game is called "TDZK", which is short for "Taenaria, Derivia, Zallus, Kitara", which are the home planets of four of the ten selectable races in the game.

You might be thinking, "Ugh, free browsers based game? Booooooring."

However, TDZK is not any average browser based game. Unlike most other games based in the browser setting, it's turn based, not tick. So you won't have to babysit your character 24/7 to make sure that you are not attacked. You gain turns, and then spend them

TDZK Round X In Full Swing

Submitted News from Pacstar:

TDZK round 2.4 has started. Round X is believed to become the best TDZK game round ever.

www.tdzk.net:
TDZK Round X has arrived, and it packs thrilling changes to pod and piracy penalties, as well as a tweak for sniv racial equipment.

On top of that we bring you the new and shiney shield drones and our completely overhauled item conceptas well as a far more convenient messaging system.

For a full list of the amazing changes click here .

Don't forget to check out our slick TDZK ROUND X merchandise.

For all of who don't know about TDZK:

The game is called "TDZK", which is short for "Taenaria, Derivia, Zallus, Kitara", which are the home planets of four of the seven selectable races in the game.

You might be thinking, "Ugh, browsers based game? Booooooring."

However, TDZK is not any average browser based game. Unlike most other games based in the browser setting, it's turn based, not tick. So you won't have to babysit your character 24/7 to make sure that you are not attacked. You gain turns, and then spend them

Another one of the main selling points of the game is the huge amount of career choices to choose from. You can choose to be a peaceful trader whose only goal is to gain experience and money. Or you can choose to get into a powerful warbird and either hunt these traders down or go after other warbirds. Or you can choose to be a pirate (yarr!), cruising through space and pirating both warbirds and traders. Other "careers" include searching for items in deep space, fighting NPCs to lessen the scourge threat in the galaxy, raid high levels stations to knock out players sleeping in them, repair other ships, scout distant systems to find nice targets, mine systems... and the list goes on.

And the best part of the game is definitely the "alliance" system in place. You can team up with a bunch of your friends and create a mighty force to fight other alliances. Or you can get started in one of the existing alliances and work your way up the ranks. Either way, you'll have a great time.

The admins of the game are very, very active, and the game is built upon player created ideas. If you have an idea that you think will make the game more fun... just post it in the forums! The admins are great at what they do, and pay attention to everything the playerbase has to say. The admins are very active in tracking down cheaters, and if you find something wrong, are very approachable.

The game itself has an active playerbase of around 2000 players, and these alliances have players of all ages and nationalities. I'm in an alliance with a bunch of germans, americans, austrailians, british, dutch, and maybe a canadian or two . No matter what you choose to do in this game, you will find a group of players who you can have a great time with.

The expansion for the critically acclaimed massively multiplayer online (MMO) game Shadowbane® will feature an entirely new realm and rulership system that allows players to seize and vie for control of sections of the game world.

"Shadowbane: Throne of Oblivion brings guild warfare and city sieging to an exciting new level with a strategic end-game that is unprecedented in the genre of MMO games. ‘Build an Empire’ was one of the early rallying cries of Shadowbane and with this expansion, our players can do exactly that," said Frank Lucero, Shadowbane’s producer. “Shadowbane: Throne of Oblivion brings with it the new Vampire Race, new classes and disciplines, each with special powers and abilities designed to enrich PvP combat.
